Fans of Will Smith have a chance to get up close and personal with their hero tomorrow at a Red Carpet Event for his new film, “Seven Pounds,” at the Valley View Cinemark.

The red carpet will be unfurled outside the theater, and the film company, Warner Bros. Pictures, has invited local/state politicians, VIPs and professional athletes to attend the event. They will begin arriving at the theater at 6 p.m., with Smith scheduled to walk the carpet at approximately 6:45.

“Seven Pounds” is the emotional story of a man who will change the lives of seven strangers, and it re-unites Smith with director Gabriele Muccino, who also directed “The Pursuit of Happyness.” “Seven Pounds” will open nationally Dec. 19.

The theme of the night is “giving back,” and a Cleveland Food Bank truck will be parked outside the theater to collect nonperishable food items. The first 200 people to donate an item will receive a pass (admit one) for the 7 p.m. screening of “Seven Pounds.”

In addition, Smith personally will donate 200 turkeys to the Cleveland Food Bank
